Character Name: Tsukumaro "Shirogane" Ogami, AKA GaoSilver.
Character Canon: Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger
Canon Background: Here!
Omegafriends Background: One thousand years ago, Tsukumaro Ogami, who often went by the nickname of Shirogane, was a part of an elite group of warriors who fought against terrible monsters called Orgs. They were called Gao Warriors, and they and their robotic Power Animals were all that stood against humanity and the Org menace. At one point, the Gao Warriors' battle against the Orgs was going so poorly, that Shirogane decided to take matters into his own hands. He used the power of the Dark Wolf Mask to take some Org power into himself, which backfired horribly and turned him into an Org. He was able to defeat the Orgs that were terrorizing humanity, but he was unable to return to a human form. The power corrupted him and his Power Animals, turning them against the other Gao Warriors.
His allies could not bring themselves to destroy him, and so they sealed him away in the hopes that one day, he could be brought back to normal. In the present day, the seal was broken by a villain seeking to harness the ancient power for themselves, and for a while, Shirogane believed he was an Org named Rouki who hated the humans. Fortunately, some stubborn heroes snapped him out of it and freed him and his Power Animals from the evil power's grasp.
Though Shirogane had the opportunity to join the Omegafriends, he turned them down, preferring to operate on his own as an independent hero. In his civilian identity, he's a professional pool player who spends a great deal of his down time in a local pool hall called the Billiard Jack, which is presumably run by some guy named Jack who really lacks a talent at naming things.
Personality: Shirogane is all about keeping to himself and trying to remain a lone wolf. If he has no teammates, then he has no one he could possibly hurt if he were to become Rouki again or if his battles were to end poorly. This becomes a little less effective when one takes into account that he's hanging out with three robot animals. He's got a lot of regret going over the actions of his past, and he's determined to make things right by being the best superhero he can be.
He's not a good team player. He gets himself into a lot of trouble because he fails to take anyone's opinions but his own into account. He got himself sealed away for a thousand years thanks to his own firm ideas that he could handle this evil power, everyone else who said "no, don't do that" was out of ideas, and that everything would be just fine. Consequently, he's also not much of an optimist anymore.
Deep down, he'd like people to like him, though it's easier to push them away. Plus, he can be a little socially awkward, and being the cool lone wolf covers for that--he doesn't like to show any weaknesses to anyone. Asking him to go do anything remotely social usually involves him turning the other party down initially--and then agonizing over what he should do and how he should act when or if the thing actually happens if the other party is persistent enough to convince him into going.
He's painfully responsible. If he makes a mistake, he will own up to it, and he will do anything and everything in his power to fix it. He's hard on himself in that regard; he'll endlessly beat himself up for making mistakes. If said mistake ends up putting someone else in jeopardy, Shirogane will throw personal safety and caution to the wind in his efforts to fix things. If he dies while saving someone, well, at least they're hopefully saved in the end.
Although he is a man out of his own time, he has handled being transported to the future rather well. He doesn't freak out at the sight of cars or airplanes, and he has adapted to the use of cell phones remarkably quickly. The attitudes of modern people can sometimes surprise him, but for the most part, he keeps this in check.
Powers: Shirogane has the ability to transform into the form of GaoSilver using his G-Brace, which is a special flip phone that allows him to call his Power Animals. He is stronger, faster, and more durable than a normal human in this form. His Power Animals are GaoWolf, GaoLigator, and GaoHammerhead, and most of the time, they're giant robots with their souls tied to Gao Jewels, small spheres that Shirogane always carries with him. Here, I'm tying them to the Gao Jewels in sort of the way Pokemon are tied to their Pokeballs--easier to summon and store.
In canon, he's a Super Sentai warrior with the giant robots that go along with this. Here, I'm scaling down his Power Animals. GaoWolf, GaoLigator, and GaoHammerhead will be robot animals roughly the size of their normal animal counterparts, though GaoLigator will be the size of a very large alligator. When summoned at the same time, the three can combine into GaoHunter, which Shirogane can then use as sort of a powered exosuit. (There's probably some sparkly shoujo armored transformation sequence in there somewhere.)
His personal weapon is the Gao Hustler Rod. It's essentially a fancy pool cue that can switch between a sword form and a rifle form. His finishing attack, Gao Laser Pool, has him wave the rod in the air, creating a pool table made of light, at which point he uses GaoWolf, GaoLigator, and GaoHammerhead's Gao Jewels as billiard balls and the Gao Hustler Rod as a pool cue to deliver the finishing blow.
Shirogane also has the ability to "sense trouble on the wind," and his keen senses often lead to his showing up at opportune moments wherever he is needed.
Sample: I've got a thread here, here, and here.
Notes: I'm trying to leave bits of his backstory vague enough that anyone else who wanted to app a Gaoranger
